SUSTAINABILITY

In Brazil, the mining sector, in general, is subject to a set of regulations, according to which the three levels of state power have attributions with respect to mining activity and the environment.

As these resources are assets of the Union, exploration, exploitation of them, which are the essence of mining activities, occurs through the granting of mining rights under different legal regimes.

We at ECL have taken some measures to reduce the impact of our activity on the environment, such as the administrative challenge to reduce energy resources in the excavation process, reduce water use and fill waste in underground mine galleries in order to avoid landslides, land displacements and other environmental problems.
